Under general supervision of the Finance Director, performs technical level accounting work, maintain accounts and financial records in an established accounting system; performs duties related to the Board of Supervisors; performs other work as required.

Examples of Duties: |
- Performs, under the direction of the Finance Director, annual departmental internal audits.
- Grant management – research grants for our various departments and provide any assistance as needed.
- Purchase of Service contract and expenditure review.
- Lease management for the County.
- Certification of Townships Budgets through the Department of Management along with monitoring reporting requirements for Annual Financial Reports.
- Prepares and publishes the weekly agenda for the Board of Supervisors meetings.
- Prepares and publishes Board of Supervisors meetings minutes.
- Prepares Supervisors weekly packet for digital signatures and distribution to relevant parties.
- Tracking Fire/EMS revolving loans. Track, send invoices and prepare deposits.
- Manage liquor/beer/wine and cigarette permits.
- Oversees all document retention efforts for the Auditor’s office.
- Assembles weekly accounts payable checks.
- Point of contact for the county responding to inquiries from department heads, county officials, staff members, and business vendors regarding Board of Supervisors weekly meetings.
- Assists Finance Director with a variety of special projects including the monthly/annual reports, annual audit, and preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
- Assists the Finance Director and/or County Auditor with additional duties as assigned.
- Represents the Dubuque County Auditor, the Auditor’s Office, and Dubuque County in a professional, responsible, and trustworthy manner, exhibiting a high degree of judgment, diplomacy and confidentiality, and avoiding bias and conflict of interest, and the appearance of bias and conflict of interest.

Minimum Qualifications: |
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field and two to five years of finance/accounting experience or equivalent combination
- Demonstrated ability to ask questions.

- Two (2) years' experience with computerized financial systems and reporting is required.
