Job Overview

BASIC FUNCTION

Under general supervision maintains equipment and all ice arena related functions. Performs cleaning tasks and operations of various types of equipment to care for and maintain ice arena. Performs related work as required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists supervisor with maintenance of all ice arena equipment
2. Performs small maintenance jobs in ice arena building and grounds
3. Notifies management concerning need for repairs.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

1. Must be able to operate small equipment such as lawn mowers, plows, etc.
2. Must be able to operate various hand tools

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

1. Following oral and written instructions.
2. Performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in a variety of construction and maintenance activities.
3. Learning to perform journeyman level work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
2. Perform heavy physical labor

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

1. Worker is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including extremes in heat and cold.
2. Subject to noise, and vibration.
3. Subject to hazards (moving mechanical parts, electrical current, scaffolding, exposure to chemicals).
4. Subject to atmospheric conditions affecting respiratory system or skin (fumes, dusts, mists, gasses, poor ventilation).
5. Subject to oils and other cutting fluids
6. In certain situations, is required to wear a respirator.
