Job Overview
BASIC FUNCTION
Oversee daily operations of Hotel, Banquet and Food and Beverage departments, by developing, initiating, and enforcing departmental procedures, policies, and controls for all assigned operations. Proactively provide direction to front- and back-of-the-house management in all areas of operations, in order to maintain fiscal goals, while delivering a level of guest service and experience unmatched by any competitor.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
a) Reports to: Chief Operations Financial Officer
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises, trains, and motivates Hotel and Food & Beverage department managers through open communication, conducts weekly manager meetings and monthly department meetings
- Acts as liaison between hotel property management company and Casino principals
- Approves all hiring, training, development, coaching, re-assignment, and termination of Hospitality management and staff
- Develops staffing schedules to ensure highest service levels with maximum productivity
- Conducts performance evaluations for all direct reports to emphasize the success or failure of achieving stated goals and advancing professional development
- Provides, implements, and promotes exceptional guest service standards by all Hospitality team members in accordance with established standards
- Promotes total guest satisfaction by addressing complaints, answering inquiries, resolving problems brought to Property’s attention, and taking necessary action to correct any noted deficiencies, in a timely manner
- Drives business by promoting Casino and Hotel facilities and services for use and repeat visits by both gaming and non-gaming segments of market; Maximizes profits by striving for optimum occupancy rates and achieving best rates for all rooms sold on a daily basis
- Develops Hospitality budgets, monitors monthly budget status, and trains Hospitality management on interpreting financial results
- Approves daily purchase of materials and supplies and other expenses and monitors inventory and costs
- Ensures maintenance of facilities, rooms, entrances, amenities, and services to a level necessary to meet and exceed expectations of all property guests
- Ensures all preventive and required maintenance and upgrades of all Hospitality systems are scheduled and conducted
- Assists with construction of ads with Marketing department
- Ensures compliance with IRGC regulations and Internal Controls
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Casino/Resort Management, or related field, AND five (5) years’ experience in a management level position – Required
- Five (5) years of experience managing multiple shift, food, and beverage outlets, specifically Banquet or Convention Services– Required
- Previous experience working with third party companies– Required
- Previous hotel experience associated with a gaming environment– Preferred
- After hire, successful completion of Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service and TIPS training required to retain position
- After hire, successful completion of ServeSafe Sanitation training required to retain position
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, etc.
- Willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Ability to display strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to deal with high stress levels
- Excellent knowledge of current industry, state, local, federal government standards, and regulations
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing and walking for long periods of time between all assigned outlets in both Hotel and Casino
- Able to move up to 20 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
- Activities occur inside and outside, occasionally subject to all weather conditions
- Occasional travel is required
- Loud noise levels in restaurant and casino area
