Job Details:
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit an understanding of OSHA standards and continuously monitor facilities to ensure compliance
- Create, implement, and maintain all aspects of workplace health and safety programs, plans, and procedures. Including but not limited to: Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, and Personal Protective Equipment programs.
- Evaluate health and safety practices and procedures for risk assessment, following legal guidelines, and propose action steps for continuous improvement to safety programs
- Inspect equipment and operations for unsafe workplace conditions
- Monitor employee conformity to safety laws and policies and address any nonconformance issues
- Investigate accidents and incidents to find causes and take preventive measures to avoid further incidents
- Administer all Workers Compensation injures and subsequent claims by completing required documentation and filings to OSHA and the Workers Compensation insurance provider
- Act as a liaison with safety service providers (insurance representatives, occupational health providers, PPE providers, etc.)
- Provide safety-related technical support to technical and operation team leaders
Skills/Experience:
- Certified in risk management, health/safety management, and thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines
- Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards and recognize when safety conditions need improvement
- Ability to develop safety procedures, establish and set companywide safety metrics, provide detailed reports
- Good organizational, leadership, and motivation skills
- Ability to develop, enhance, and maintain administrative policies and procedures
- Conflict management and problem-solving skills
- Multi-tasking and priority determination ability
- Excellent communication, meeting, and presentation skills
- Able to coach, develop, and influence others without direct supervisory responsibility
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in a safety leadership role in an industrial manufacturing environment (experience in CNC machining a plus)
- Progressive responsibility in managing EH&S for multi-site company
- Proficiency in regulatory requirements at local, state, and federal levels
- Extensive experience with OSHA regulations and reporting requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, and OSHA 30-hour
