Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant in the Office of University Relations for the 2022-2023 term, with a potential renewal for 2023-2024.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain a current presence for the Office of Admission social media feeds in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok
  • Take photos around campus and at campus events for the Office of Admission and University of Dubuque social media
  • Create imagery and digital content for the Office of Admission and University of Dubuque social media
  • Keep track of social media metrics and trends
  • Assist with social media projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into the University of Dubuque master’s program
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel spreadsheet, Outlook, Data entry technology, PowerPoint, Word, Internet, Search engines, and Adobe software and knowledge of social media platforms)
  • Flexibility with schedule (ex. evening or weekend commitments) to attend/cover campus events
  • Utilize excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Ability to work with a variety of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community professionals
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Adobe Creative and/or Canva
  • Experience in social media, video, and ability with cell phone and/or camera photography

All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA.  In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
