Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Organizes manufacturing procedures and operations to accomplish objectives in accordance with production and delivery schedule. Optimizes the use of available manpower, skills, and manufacturing techniques to the best advantage economically and expedite work load on a timely and efficient basis and in a safe manner.
• Utilizes knowledge and experience in gelatin manufacturing and the principles of TQM and SPC to optimize and improve product quality and yield.
• Maintains effective lines of communication with other department supervisors, and with production process operators.
• Insures accurate, complete and timely completion and submission of all production and administrative paperwork, such as daily production reports, time reporting sheets, performance.
• Develop, support and maintain an effective relationship with the QA Department, coordinating efforts to consistently produce high quality product with minimum scrap rates.
• Train production personnel, and/or insure proper training by other senior production personnel. Provide all necessary information to employees relative to Hazard Communication, Safety Rules, work and conduct rules, Good Manufacturing Practices, etc.
• Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
• Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Ability to work the following schedule: 6pm to 6am (4 days on 4 days off)

Education and Minimum Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
