Job Overview

At Clarke University, everything we do is focused on making an impact on students so they can positively impact the world. For students, it means a place where more than facts are studied – it means new ways of thinking are explored. For faculty and staff, it means more than just coming to work every day – it means truly collaborating across the university to put student success first. It also means living and working in a thriving city named one of the “most livable” small cities in the country and one of “Best Green Places” in the country.

Clarke seeks a full-time Visiting Instructor of Education for the 2022-2023 academic year.  This is an interim, one-year appointment that will end in May of 2023. The ideal candidate should have a doctorate in education or related field and a minimum of 3 years teaching in a K-8 setting with special education and/or reading endorsement(s). Candidates who are ABD and/or highly experienced master’s level candidates will be considered.

The Education Department offers the opportunity to teach online in the Accelerated Teacher Certification Pathway. The pathway will provide paraprofessionals and substitute teachers with the necessary coursework while allowing them to remain at work. This includes junior and senior-level interdisciplinary courses for those who have earned their AA, AS, or BA. Majors and areas of study include elementary education and reading endorsement.

To apply, please upload a letter of application; a list of four references with contact information and a brief description of your relationship to these colleagues; unofficial graduate transcripts; curriculum vitae; and a teaching philosophy online at http://clarke.applicantpool.com/jobs. Review of applications will begin immediately.

Clarke University is committed to fostering a welcoming campus community that celebrates the unique contributions of each person and promotes an inclusive learning environment. Clarke University does not discriminate against any employee or any applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, or genetic information.
