OVERVIEW
This position supports the Community Foundation’s mission in creating high-impact opportunities for non-profit organizations in the regions we serve. (Please note: This is not a grant writing position.) The grantmaking coordinator performs a variety of duties requiring independent analysis, judgment and knowledge of organization and departmental functions. They maintain records, build applications, prepare grant cycle paperwork, process competitive grants and follow-ups and correspond to all grant cycle inquires. The grantmaking coordinator will have the opportunity to work on various department wide projects based on interest, skills and availability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Application Development & Processing
- Build and manage applications using a cloud-based grant management system
- Process payments using a cloud-based finance management system
- Check applications for completion and work with nonprofit organizations to ensure applications are complete and ready for review
- Seeing grants through their entire lifecycle—from application development through reporting
- Review grant reports and advise nonprofits on how to complete reporting requirements
- Process grant payments and ensure appropriate expenditure of funding designated for grants
- Create or update precise processes for grants and grant payments
- Support Director of Impact to continually assess and improve the grant-making models and related procedures and systems; suggest improvements to grant policies, procedures and systems
- Work with finance and affiliates to process and submit grant reports to various counties
- Data entry of incoming grants to grants management system
Customer Service
- Correspond with nonprofits, donors, and others on grant-related issues by advising, answering questions, and responding to phone calls and inquiries
- Cooperate with Community Foundation affiliates, donors and local businesses regarding their grant processes
- Advise grant applicants and reviewers on how to utilize the grants software and guide them through the processes as necessary; help them overcome any obstacles and work to resolve issues that arise
- Provide general customer-service to those contacting the Community Foundation for support or guidance
Other Duties
- Educate and train nonprofits in utilizing grant system through written communications, telephone calls, video conferences, webinars and occasionally in-person presentations
- Support Communications team to promote grant opportunities
- Other duties as assigned

A strong candidate who is a dedicated individual who has a passion for working with partners and building grant systems. Expected skills include:

- Strong competency in Microsoft 365 and the entire Microsoft Suite
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in a friendly manner
