Job Overview
Gronen is a full-service community centered, development, construction, brokerage and property management company who is experiencing growth across all of its divisions. Gronen is seeking individuals to join our masonry team. Gronen is a leader in historic rehabilitation and new construction.
SUMMARY Lays building materials, including concrete and brick, and constructs or repairs surfaces or structures. All experience levels welcome.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Grinding and re-tuckpointing historical masonry walls
- Supplies the masons
- Stocks material
- Builds scaffolds
- Makes mortar
- Cleans masonry units
- Works safely and is familiar with OSHA requirements
- Other mason tending duties required for masonry projects
- Must have driver’s licenses
- Must be self-motivated and willing to work under various weather conditions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and have knowledge of related tools, masonry techniques, equipment, and materials. Skill in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of masonry structures and surfaces.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Basic knowledge of tools. Motivated to learn and be trained.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, tenants and residents of the organization.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's License, ability to pass a background check, and drug test.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
