Job Overview
SUMMARY Lays building materials, including concrete and brick, and constructs or repairs surfaces or structures. Working conditions include restricted movement, dirty environment, extreme temperatures, lifting or carrying heavy objects. All experience levels welcome.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supplies the masons
- Stocks material
- Builds scaffolds
- Makes mortar
- Cleans masonry units
- Works safely and is familiar with OSHA requirements
- Other mason tending duties required for masonry projects
- Must have driver’s licenses
- Must be self-motivated and willing work under varies weather conditions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and have knowledge of related tools, masonry techniques, equipment, and materials. Skill in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of masonry structures and surfaces.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Basic knowledge of tools. Motivated to learn and be trained.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, tenants and residents of the organization.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's License, ability to pass a background check, and drug test.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
