Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant- in the International Student Services and Study Abroad Office and Office of Student Activities for the 2023-2024 term, with a potential renewal for 2024-2025.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide support in the areas of international student advising, international student services programming, and study abroad advising and promotion
- Assist with the administration of student organizations on campus
- Work closely with both the Director of International Student Services and Study Abroad and the Director of Student Engagement and Services to develop programming and special events to engage the campus and community populations
- Guide and mentor undergraduate student organizations by providing administrative and technical support
- Assist with public relations by coordinating social media messaging, campus messaging, and community messaging
- Assist with general office support
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters’ program
- Proficient computer skills (Excel spreadsheet, Outlook, Data entry technology, PowerPoint, Word, Internet, Search engines, and social media)
- Flexibility with schedule as need arises (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
- Utilize excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Ability to work with a variety of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community professionals
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
