Graduate Assistant – Men’s Golf

Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant- Men’s Golf Coach for the 2023-2024 term, with a potential renewal for 2024-2025.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach with player instruction & development including planning and supervision of practices, game planning & game day coaching, & player evaluation development
• Recruit and scout prospective student-athletes
• Assist head coach in all aspects of organizing, implementing, and working fundraising events; including scheduling and travel itineraries
• Monitor eligibility status and promotion of academic progress for student-athletes
• Assist the head coach with budget management
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters’ program
• Must understand the rules of golf and have knowledge of the golf game
• Previous playing, coaching, or managing experience is preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Flexibility with schedule (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA.  In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
