Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Overview

Spahn & Rose Lumber Co, the 2022 LBM Dealer of the Year, has an opening for an Accounts Receivable Specialist at our corporate office in Dubuque. This position is responsible for processing the day-to-day credit transactions of the business under the general direction of the Director of Credit & Collections.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Post any payments received to the correct accounts.
• Apply payments accurately according to customer remittance.
• Evaluation of credit worthiness and routine reassessment of customer credit terms and limits on existing customers in alignment with corporate policies and strategies.
• Investigate customer charge backs, shortages. overpayments, disputes, etc. and communicate with the appropriate internal resources to reach resolution.
• Respond to customer inquiries for copies of invoices, statements, etc.
• Contacts customers to collect on outstanding balances and keeping sales informed of when customer accounts are on hold, working with them to ensure payment is made.
• Verify job payments and sign lien waivers upon request.
• Manage and resolve items in Accounts Receivable and Credit email.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree in accounting or previous work experience in accounts receivable, collections or general accounting.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, staff and management.
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proven capability establishing good relationships and contributing in a team environment.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Spahn & Rose’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, commissions, profit sharing, and other benefits.
