Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Payroll/HR Coordinator. The University of Dubuque offers an excellent benefits package including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process payroll in our Jenzabar software
- Maintain employee payroll records
- Maintain employee files to ensure accuracy
- Process benefit and tax payments
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports
- Maintain timekeeping system
- Balance payroll and other accounts
- Prepare annual reports for annual audit
- Assist HR Director to maintain a culture of hospitality in our faith and following our Mission across the campus
- Communicate with employees to answer benefit questions and assist in processing life events and open enrollment elections
- Assist in development of policies and procedures
- Follow law and regulations (state, federal, etc.)
- Perform other duties in support of the University’s Mission
Position Skills and Abilities:
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and must keep data confidential
- Accuracy in data entry
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of working software such as Adobe and Microsoft Suite
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to serve as an effective team member and collaborate with campus
Qualifications:
- Must have high school diploma; Associate’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations preferred
- Experience processing payroll and payroll tax issues
