PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Preform highest level of customer service to Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa customers while they are arriving and leaving to the golf course. Maintain cart & range levels necessary for booked tee times on a daily basis. Treat guest & fellow associates with respect and friendliness at all times. Follow the direction of the Director of Golf, Golf Shop Supervisors, & or Golf Shop staff during normal shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Customer Service:
- Address and report any safety issues immediately. Safety is our first priority.
- Acknowledge and greet customers with a smile and in a friendly manner
- Know range and cart customer courtesy
- Be knowledgeable of range programs and specials
- Be sensitive to the customer’s need and make eye contact
- Be familiar with problem solving alternatives and reporting procedures.
- Call customers by their name whenever you know it.
General Range Duties:
- Address and report any safety issues immediately. Safety is our first priority.
- Set up range before customers arrive at the course.
- Set up includes putting out flag sticks and moving tee markers to an area where turf is sufficient for practice. Pay special attention to the spacing and alignment of tee markers.
- Fill range machine or bags/baskets with balls and make sure you have sufficient amount for customers.
- Make sure range balls are not damaged and have been properly cleaned.
- Check range ball supply to assure there are enough to fulfill demand.
- Do not allow empty range bags/baskets to accumulate on the range teeing area. Check area periodically.
Use of Range Equipment:
- Check gas and oil in the tractor/picking cart before using daily.
- Follow rules for safe ball picking: Wear a hard hat whenever you are on the range.
- Drive slowly and carefully; do not drive over the backs of mounds, steep inclines, or sprinkler heads; keep the picker well away from fences.
- Check the range picking cart and picker for damage or needed repair. Inform the cart mechanic if any exist.
- Park and secure tractor/range picking cart and picker before leaving premises.
- Inspect all range bags/baskets for damage, repair or discard any damaged bags/baskets.
General cart operations:
- Stocking amenities on cart (pencils, scorecards, tees, etc.)
- Organizing carts in staging area.
- Clean staging area and cart barn.
- Wash carts daily.
- Fueling carts when necessary & maintaining gas log or plug in and turn on chargers.
- Cart turnover during day – remove trash, restock amenities and clean as necessary.
- Following cart rotation and sequencing rules when opening and closing.
- Ensure carts counted and secured at closing.
Identify and take appropriate action on basic mechanical problems:
- Check for the following problems: brakes, steering, water(batteries), accelerator, flat tires, reverse buzzers, bag straps.
- Understand basic mechanical operations: changing tires, changing spark plugs.
- Communicate major problems to cart mechanic via club/course procedure.
Miscellaneous Duties:
- Maintenance/cleanliness of parking lot/outside clubhouse.
- Empty all trash cans in work area, in clubhouse and in parking lot.
- Change/fill water in coolers on course.
- When closing, all range bags/baskets must be retrieved from teeing area and practice area.
- Pick up/secure flagsticks at night.
- Check-out, check-in of rental clubs and cleaning.
- Organizing and staging pull-carts
- Be available to contribute to team as needed.
Other contributions to Team as necessary.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work at multiple locations on the property. (The General, North, South, East golf courses)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
May be required: to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
May be required: to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
REASONING ABILITY
May be called upon: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- and two-step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, feel or handle, talks or hear. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
