GREENSKEEPER
PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Provides for the care and maintenance of the golf course, public areas, ornamental trees, shrubs, bedding plants, and flowers in compliance with corporate standards, local, state and national codes and regulations to protect the asset, guests and Associates, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses, and maximize guest satisfaction. Under supervision, works on the diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction, does semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and performs related tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Operates mechanical equipment such as riding and walk mowers, weed trimmers, tractors, utility vehicles, bunker rakes, chainsaws, and push mowers.
- Involved with golf course set-up procedures such as mowing turf, changing cups, filling divots, and preparing sand traps prior to play.
- Maintains healthy lawn and landscape areas through application of mulch, water, fertilizer, seed, sod, and grooming.
- Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
- Plants trees, shrubs, turf grass and flowers.
- Prunes and trims trees and shrubs.
- Maintains a clean landscape environment through trash removal and debris cleanup.
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors and fellow Associates.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction and multiplication.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to analyze data to make appropriate judgments regarding duties.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Practice written safety standards and rules at all times.

Associate must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, and standing. Frequently requires reaching, grabbing, pulling, and grasping. Sometimes requires working in damp, wet or inclement conditions.
HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any Associate may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends and night shifts. . Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
