Innovative Ag Services is a full-service farm cooperative offering a complete line of supplies and services. We provide value-added products and services to over 5,000 members in the grain, agronomy, feed, and energy markets. Our 30 locations are located throughout northeast and central Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. IAS ranks as one of the Top Agricultural Cooperatives in Iowa.

Areas of Accountability:

Recruitment

  • Recruiting – Drive recruitment of hourly FT, and Seasonal employees, and FT salaried employees for the East region of IAS with backup support for the West region as needed. Support the HR team in building relationships with educational and community sources to build an applicant pool for short and long-term sourcing for future employees. Attend Job Fairs, Networking events, etc. to build branding of IAS as an employer.
  • Applicant Tracking System expert with the ability to train others on the use of the product.
  • Partner with and support HR Generalist (West) to drive Social Media initiatives (Facebook, Linked In IAS website, etc.) including the generation of marketing pieces.
  • Work with recruitment background hiring platform on a routine basis.
  • Onboarding platform expert with the ability to train others on the use of the product
  • Manage all recruitment advertisement expense tracking and reporting.

Benefits/Safety Administrations

  • East Region FMLA Coordinator with backup support from West Region HR generalist and/or other HR team members as needed.
  • East Region Short-Term/Long-Term Disability Administrator with backup support from West Region HR generalist and/or other HR team members as needed.
  • Assist the VP of HR with the management of the company wellness program.
  • Manage East Region Worker's Compensation claims with backup support from West Region HR generalist and/or other HR team members as needed.
  • Assignment of new hire training in the Learning Management system
  • Understanding of all IAS benefits

Communications/Community

  • Creation of newspaper and online advertisement
  • Annually assist the VP of HR with managing employee and customer appreciation event planning
  • Assist the VP of HR in the quarterly creation of communication pieces for the Employee Insights Newsletter and Customer AgBiz Publication
  • Partner with HR Team on managing the IAS Internship program.

Payroll Administration

  • Ability to serve in a payroll processing position: Payroll & Timekeeping administration – in partnership with other HR team members entry of employee changes, report writing, and timekeeping adjustments as needed to process bi-weekly payroll.

Other HR Team Duties

  • HR Coach – application of handbook policies to help coach and aid supervisors in employee documentation.
  • Ability to work in all HRIS platforms.
  • Support company training initiatives as needed.
  • Write reports out of the ADP HRIS system to support management.
  • Content management of electronic and paper files
  • Other duties as assigned to support the HR team and company initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources, or business management/marketing, and/or the equivalent of education and experience. Minimum of 4 years’ experience.
  • Self-Directed, with limited supervision, displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate information or ideas effectively in written or oral form, as well as by phone and online.
  • Ability to organize, deals with change effectively, and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to successfully participate in recruitment PI Training Program & support Company initiatives once trained.
  • Microsoft Office Suite programs. Advanced Excel is required. Microsoft Publisher Skills and ADP Workforce Now experience a plus.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Adaptability:

  • Requires static strength to lift, push, pull, or, on occasion carry objects with a minimum weight of 50 pounds.  Also, flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.  Some tasks involve repetitive motion.
  • Agricultural Environment – Possible exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agricultural products.
