Job Overview

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with all Heritage Center staff, UD’s Fine and Performing Arts department, University Relations, Development and Alumni offices to advance the performing arts on the UD campus
  • Maintain excellent public relations and high customer service standards with all patrons and users of Heritage Center, both on and off campus
  • Allow flexibility in scheduling since evening and weekend hours are often expected
  • Motivate other FOH and ticketing staff to emulate your ticketing system and ushering knowledge and efficient and customer friendly manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support the University’s Mission

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters’ program
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills with some accounting knowledge
  • Ability to provide customer service to patrons of UD’s Heritage Center performance venues and box office
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Ability to work with a variety of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community professionals
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel spreadsheet, Outlook, Data entry technology, PowerPoint, Word, Internet, Search engines, and social media)
  • Experience in operations, retail, customer service, or sales in a supervisory role
  • Ability to supervise and train work-study students, community volunteers, and class credit workers
  • Developed public relations skills and ability to gracefully handle challenging situations

All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA.  In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
