Job Overview
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide academic success coaching to student-athletes in assigned sports
- Monitor student-athlete academic performance and academic progress, including maintaining accurate and continuously updated records
- Assist in monitoring NCAA initial and continuing eligibility requirements
- Assist as a liaison between the athletic department and coaches, faculty, and staff
- Mentor students on being an advocate for themselves and promoting academic success and addressing transition issues
- Provide support to Athletic Certification and Compliance personnel
- Provide study table supervision
- Perform other duties as assigned in support the University’s Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters’ program
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Possess effective interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, a positive attitude, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks/or the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, etc.)
This position comes with a full tuition waiver for the term in which the student serves as Graduate Assistant. In exchange for the tuition waiver, the student agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
