Graduate Assistant - Promotions and Student Engagement in the Heritage Center

Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant- Promotions and Student Engagement in the Heritage Center for the 2023-2024 term, with a potential renewal for 2024-2025.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with stewardship of Center programs, facilities, and resources
• Maintain social media sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and the CampusGroups app
• Assist with Live at Heritage Center event marketing including development of print materials and advertising
• Manage distribution of promotional print materials on campus and in the community
• Serve as co-advisor and staff liaison to Heritage Performing Arts Advisory Committee
• Assist in student engagement efforts
• Assist in identifying and fostering various university partnerships
• Assist in database management related to promotion of events
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
• Proficient computer skills (Excel spreadsheet, Outlook, Data entry technology, PowerPoint, Word, Internet, Search engines, and social media)
• Flexibility with schedule as need arises (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
• Utilize excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Ability to work with a variety of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community professionals
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time
• Maintain a professional appearance

All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
