POSITION: Assistant Production Manager
DEPARTMENT: Events and Operations
REPORTS TO: Production Operations Manager
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Assistant Production Manager at Five Flags Center. The Assistant Production Manager will be responsible for working with event and operations management, contractors and clients to ensure that all event productions are planned, and executed in the most efficient, professional and safe manner.
MAJOR DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Studies technical riders, light plots, electrical requirements, and hanging plots as to the complexity and feasibility of hanging a road show or local production in the facilities and projects related expenses. Also, provides solutions which work to the benefit of the facility and the client.
- Acts as facility representative to review and approve all rigging plots and ensure that points are installed in accordance with approved plan.
- Works with clients, contractors, and staff to determine the production manpower required for in-house production work. Establishes and places orders for crew calls.
- Supervises and trains production/stagehand personnel in the safe and proper set-up, operation, strike, and maintenance of all production related equipment.
- Participates in customer site visits and throughout the event booking, planning, and execution cycle as an in-house resource on facility rigging, light and sound systems.
- Supervises and facilitates production equipment rental to event contractors.
- Provides written estimates for equipment rentals.
- Attend department head and full staff meetings.
- Instruct and supervise stagehands in day to day tasks.
- Assist with rigging event equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework in related discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
- ETCP Rigging Certification preferred.
- One (1) or more years working with light, sound, and AV production in a convention center, arena, theater, or road show environment. Three phase electrical experience a plus.
- Must have working knowledge of facility, theatrical production, and decorator/exhibit production, video/ projection.
