Tax & Accounting Associate

Job Overview

Job Duties:

• Complete various general ledger activities including bank and account reconciliations, adjusting entries, and sales tax reporting
• Payroll preparation and payroll tax reporting
• Prepare federal and state business and individual income tax returns
• Prepare interim financial statements
• Maintain client depreciation schedules
• Assist clients with accounting questions
• Maintain client relationships
• Prepare tax plans and year-end financial statements
• Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients
• Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
• Generate business growth with existing and new clients
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration
• Work with clients and firm members to ensure timely completion of projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• The position is full-time with additional hours required during tax season
• Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Intuit QuickBooks
• Excellent communication skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to learn new software programs
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively on a team
