About the job: Area Residential Care is seeking a Direct Support Professional that wants to make a difference in peoples' lives. We support individuals with intellectual disabilities and direct care staff play a role in making sure those individuals live as independently as possible. We have residential homes in Dubuque & Dyersville, IA, as well as a main building in Dubuque used for day habilitation activities. As a part of the Area Residential Care team, the 1st shift direct care staff will work in one or more residential homes, as well as in our main building assisting with daily skills and program activities of five to eight individuals served in home settings. They will also participate in group outings and activities.
Wage: $15.50 - $16.45 per hour
ARC is now offering:  A retention bonus up to $1500.00
                                            $4/hour weekend shift differential!
Job Type: Full-time 7am -3pm

A highly qualified candidate will have:
  • A high school diploma/ G.E.D
  • Six months consistent work experience
  • Ability to life 20 lbs regularly and occasionally 50 lbs
  • A valid driver's license.

Area Residential Care is a private, non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization, created in 1968 by a group of parents and other interested parties. Its mission is to empower people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their highest quality of life. From its inception, Area Residential Care’s purpose has been to provide community-based services for persons with intellectual disabilities. The organization has grown over the past 40 years to serve an average of 250-275 people with disabilities annually; providing residential, vocational, and day services in Dubuque and Dyersville communities.

Giving people with disabilities choices about where and how they live, work and socialize with their non-disabled peers is the essence of Area Residential Care’s purpose.
