Job Status: 32 hours per week on average-flexible schedule

The Community Grant Writer is responsible for aligning grant opportunities to community priority areas and creating successful grant applications, as well as building and managing collaborative local partnerships. The Community Grant Writer builds relationships with funders and partners in community opportunity areas, researches and evaluates grant opportunities, and bridges intersectionality to funnel more grant dollars to the Greater Dubuque region around identified shared priorities.

- Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders, including understanding the work of nonprofits in the region.
- Supporting local nonprofits in building their own capacity to apply for grants.
- Maintaining proficient knowledge of community priorities, data, and programs.
- Identifying grant funding opportunities.
- Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals and grant reports.
- Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.
- Facilitating and/or attending collaborative meetings.
- Compiling a semi-annual activity report.
- Maintaining appropriate records.
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be discussed and assigned.
- Extremely strong written communication skills.
- Ability to research grants and funding opportunities independently.
- Multi-project management.
- Demonstrated success in grant-writing strongly preferred.
