Job Overview
Description of Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the sales engineer is to stimulate and increase sales of existing accounts and develop new customers. This goal should be achieved primarily through direct customer contact, telephone calls and when required by letter.
The sales engineer is responsible for assessing and identifying customers tooling and stamping needs, gather pertinent information and complete date on their upcoming projects and reporting details to assist estimators with conception and estimating on quotations. The sales engineer is further responsible for presenting quotations to essential customers and reporting UTD’s competitiveness. Project follow through from quote to finish product is required.
UTD expects the following from its sales engineer:
- Will Work exclusively to sell services of UTD. You are expected to establish both short and long term goals for your territory, keeping a profitable sales attitude.
- Confidentiality of terms, quotes, projects, and customer list both for the benefit of the customer and UTD is mandatory.
- Complete knowledge of UTD’s products and potential customer’s needs.
- A high degree of planning, organization and communication are required to carry out this position.
- Upcoming sales call itinerary should be provided and discussed with Director of Sales.
- Territorial responsibility to be determined and discussed with Director of Sales.
- A weekly report regarding every call made should be delivered to the attention of Director of Sales.
- A daily call should be placed into the office to follow-up on messages and provide location and progress information.
- Solving problems in the field when need arises. Trouble shooting for UTD customers and UTD products to align customer needs and UTD products.
- Present a positive image at all times in regards to your job and UTD.
- Sport jacket are required dress code for a representative from UTD when meeting customers.
- An eight-hour day (exclusive of lunch), 5 days a week is the minimum work required.
Compensation:
