Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant for the Physician Assistant Program provides administrative support for the program’s operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the information flow between the Physician Assistant Program and the campus.
  • Manage budgets within the Physician Assistant Department.
  • Monitor PA department budget
  • Manage fund transfers
  • Respond to department faculty/staff on individual budget inquiries
  • Serve as liaison with the Business Office.
  • Meet with Program Director monthly and as needed, regarding budget concerns, reallocation of funds, budget projections, etc.
  • Assist with administration of clinical site, preceptor, guest speaker and vendor payments
  • Coordinate and assist with faculty professional development funding and administration
  • Assist with travel, credentialing, and other department reimbursements.

Position Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and multi-task
  • Solid general computer application skills & ability to learn new programs & systems (eg. e-mail, website updates, familiarity with administrative computer systems, PowerPoint, One Note, etc.)
  • High degree of confidentiality & discretion
  • Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to function as a team member, as well as independently
  • Excellent organizational & problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, and correspondence forms
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Budget knowledge
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Experience supporting mid-to executive level managers, at least 2 years.
