The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking an Admission Counselor in the Office of Admission. Purpose:
Represent the University both on- and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Represent the University both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process
· Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories, including travel to local, regional and other countries as assigned
· Counsel prospective applicants on the admission process and opportunities at the University
· Review applications, essays and other materials submitted by applicants for the purposes of making Admission decisions
· Coordinate and contribute to the success of various student visit programs designed to recruit targeted prospective applicants to the University
· Accomplish defined goals in an intensive work environment
· Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission
· Coordination and support of invitational programs of the Office of Admission and coordination of communication with high schools, and colleges
· Admission recruitment, counseling, outreach, and application review
· One-on-one Admission counseling to diverse populations
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field is required
· Previous recruiting and/or sales/marketing experience with prospecting and closing skills
· Ability to travel as well as load and transport admission materials, displays and other equipment; valid driver’s license is required
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
· Ability to establish/maintain appropriate and effective communication and interpersonal relations throughout the campus, college, and the local community
· Prior experience working in a college admission environment is preferred
· Ability to work events which may include walking distances, stairs and standing for long periods of time
