Job Overview

The Dubuque Community YMCA is currently looking to expand our gymnastics coaching staff, and is now accepting applications for part-time recreational preschool and school age gymnastics instructors. This posting is for our Recreational Program. Ideal applicants will display the following qualities:
  • High energy and enthusiasm
  • Able to lift and move mats and equipment (approx. 5-15 lbs)
  • Able to lift/spot students through new skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Effective leadership and motivational skills for children of all ages
  • Reliable/Responsible/Punctual
  • Ability to work flexible hours including Evening and Weekends
  • Know basic USA Gymnastics progressions and skills
  • Have a positive coaching style
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be passionate about helping and coaching kids
Job duties include but are not limited to hands on gymnastics instruction; teamwork and cooperation with students, staff members, and parents; class preparation, class attendance documentation, and student curriculum progress reports. On-going training will be provided.
