Job Overview
The Planning & Inventory Internship will begin in May and end in August 2024.
As a Planning & Inventory Intern, you’ll work closely with both our Planning & Inventory teams. You’ll assist Planning with developing seasonal financial plans at the category and product level to drive sales and maximize profit. You’ll develop & apply sales forecasting curves for catalog items through statistical analysis. You’ll assist Inventory with the purchasing, flowing, and management of inventory levels to satisfy demand and meet financial objectives associated with fulfillment, turnover, and profitability. In addition, you will be responsible for:
• Determining forecasts for product to meet financial targets for the season and each catalog
• Analyzing reports and data to determine trends by catalog, category, price point, positioning, etc.
• Analyzing sales and profitability information for current performance and comparing to historical results & plan expectations.
• Performing daily forecast system tasks/updates as necessary to ensure we are in sync with the mainframe at all times
• Analyzing trends in the business to identify potential risk
• Assist in monitoring key performance indicators
• Developing a buy plan to satisfy demand
• Communicate with cross functional partners to minimize fulfillment and inventory risk
• Maintaining accurate data in the systems and provide reporting as needed
• Working with cross-functional partners on business analysis and financial target setting as well as a collaborative intern project.
This position requires initiative and the ability to be self-sufficient. Ideally, you’ll be pursuing a degree in Business, Logistics, Finance, or a related field. In addition, internship applicants must: • Be at least Junior or Senior standing, recent graduates may be considered • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher • Have excellent written and oral communication skills • Be able to handle multiple tasks/responsibilities and meet deadlines • Have keen attention to detail • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills • Possess extensive knowledge of and experience with MS Office and Windows applications (particularly Excel)We value onsite collaboration, so this role requires onsite work in our Monroe, WI office Tuesday - Thursday. There is generally flexibility to work remotely for up to 2 days per week. To take advantage of the remote work option, you must have reliable, high-speed internet and appropriate home office ergonomics.
