Job Overview

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate printing equipment necessary to produce workbooks, forms, curriculum guides and other district-generated materials requiring printing.
  • Strong computer skills to prepare digital files for printing, and technology aptitude to operate copiers, large format printer, laminator, paper trimmer and other Print Center equipment.
  • Complete finishing of printed jobs including trimming, stapling, collating, laminating, binding and punching materials as directed.
  • Prepare boxes of materials, of varying weights, for pick-up and delivery.
  • Stand (8 hours on padded mat), bend, walk, and lift (50-plus lbs.) as the job demands.
  • Push and pull carts stacked with orders, boxes of orders or cases of paper.
  • Empty pallets of paper throughout the day and ensure copiers and finishing equipment are maintained with needed paper stock and consumable supplies.
  • Maintain records on copies produced so that materials are processed in an efficient manner and building records on utilization are recorded accurately.
  • Balance running four copiers with long-running and short-running jobs.
  • Make judgment calls with jobs according to teacher and student needs.
  • Create a safe work environment.
  • Organize all supplies to be readily available.
  • Maintain high production and quality of work.
  • Exercise maturity and sound judgment in making decisions and interacting with co-workers and other district and non-public school personnel.
  • Follow directions of the Print Center Lead.
  • Regular attendance in order to maintain a constant workflow in the Print Center.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations as established by the district.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Anticipated start date: as arranged. Contract length: 261  days. Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Salary: $19.11 per hour, plus an attractive fringe benefit package is included.

The Dubuque Community School District reorganized in the early 1960's with the surrounding rural area and now serves a population of over 70,000. Presently, we have a student enrollment of approximately 10,120 students. A total staff of 2,522 employees (including 959 certified teachers, counselors and nurses) is presently employed by the Dubuque Community School District. The geographical area the Dubuque District serves is over 245 square miles and the District provides school bus transportation approximately 5,000 students each day.
