The university is currently seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Conference and Events Planner. The Conference and Events Planner will play a vital role in planning and execution of conferences, meetings, and special events, ensuring that all logistical aspects are well-organized and executed flawlessly. Create and distribute detailed data sheets between departments to schedule Facilities, Custodial, Security, Audio Visual, Dining Services and Event Staffing being a liaison between different departments. Customer service focus through teamwork and dedication to meet the University Core Values.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Set-ups include but are not limited to, special events, weekly meetings, weddings, university sponsored camps, student functions.
  • Event set-up must be done accurately according to the specifications included on the Event Sheet form.
  • Event set-up must be completed in a timely fashion.
  • Facilitating changes before, during and after events.
  • Work events after hours, weekends, and possible holidays. Assuring events are set-up, run smoothly, and torn down in timely manner.
  • Hire event staff (servers, bartenders, valets, etc.)
  • Food and beverage delivery around campus.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public
  • Performs other duties as required.

A successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment, lift at least 60lbs, understand floor diagrams to precision, and be able to use all equipment provided in a safe manner. A high school diploma and valid driver's license is required. Hours may be sporadic and will require on-call and weekend hours.
