Universal Tank & Fabrication is an industry leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and specialized fabrications serving customers throughout North America. We are currently seeking a full-time Sales Representative in Dubuque, IA. Join the UTF family and become part of an organization that’s delivering on our promise of quality.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
- Understand customer needs and requirements
- Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
- Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas
- Research and develop new markets, identify key players, and generate leads
- Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory
- Perform effective online demos to prospective customers
- Working closely with the Project Management team to maintain a high-level of internal and external interaction.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss/formulate estimates.
- Confer with engineers on change orders and adjustments to cost estimates
- 40% of time devoted to estimating, learning UTF process, products, and capabilities
- 60% of time devoted to sales functions
- Attend product shows when directed
- Travel with VP of Sales on occasion to visit regional accounts
- Provide weekly sales reports on customer calls and activity
Qualifications:
- Proven sales experience
- Track record of over-achieving quota
- Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
- Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong listening and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- BA/BS degree or equivalent. Mechanical Engineering Degree or work experience in the field preferred.
- Experience with the following would be beneficial but not required:
-
- ASME Pressure Vessels, API and other steel and stainless-steel tanks
- Welding and metal fabrication
Short Term Goals: (6 Months to 1 Year)
- Assume full time outside sales responsibilities with regional and national travel 50% time
- Provide inside sales and estimating support along with listed Duties & Responsibilities
