St. Columbkille Elementary School in Dubuque, Iowa is seeking a dedicated and experienced Instructional Strategist to join our family. This full-time (1.0 FTE) position will begin in the 2024-2025 school year.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to Catholic education and have a passion for implementing innovative instructional methods to enhance student learning. The Instructional Strategist will collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, differentiated instruction, and interventions to support the diverse needs and enrichment of our students in their learning.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to assess student learning needs and develop instructional strategies to support academic growth.
- Design and deliver professional development sessions for teachers focused on best practices in instruction, including differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and technology integration.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to teachers in the implementation of instructional strategies and interventions.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accommodations for students with diverse needs.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in education, particularly as they relate to instructional strategies and student engagement.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to analyze student achievement data and identify areas for improvement.
- Work with teachers to develop and implement strategies for classroom management and behavior support.
- Serve as a resource for teachers in selecting and implementing instructional materials and resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the spiritual, academic, and social-emotional development of all students.
The qualified candidate will hold or be eligible for an Iowa teaching license. Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Additional qualifications include the following:
- Minimum of three years teaching experience in an elementary setting; experience in a Catholic school environment preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional strategies, pedagogy, and educational research.
- Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively coach and support teachers in implementing instructional strategies and interventions.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into instruction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to commute between two campuses for the 24-25 academic year.
