Job Overview
SUMMARY
Provides technical and customer support to the manufacturing process by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Primary Duties:
Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
Develops routings for generating quotes.
Prepare prints and other required documents for new parts being put into production.
Creates programs for CNC equipment.
Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and other employees.

Utilize handheld inspection equipment.
Utilizes computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Gibbscam, CNC code editing and Global Shop.
Secondary Duties:
Provides technical advice to setup personnel and operators on machining tooling and methods.
Researches and recommends tooling and methods to improve machining processes.
Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists employees in solving problems.
Designs work holding tooling.
Communicates with vendor on tooling matters.
Provide technical advice to the quality department.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
In-depth knowledge working with manufacturing equipment, including both production and inspection equipment, especially turning lathes, tooth cutting equipment and machining centers. Knowledge of processes that are needed to manufacture gears and/or shafts to develop quote routings. Experience reading and editing CNC code for turning lathes. Experience setting up turning lathes and/or tooth cutting equipment. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, memos, and e-mails. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors and other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate complex problems to management, employees and customers via e-mail and verbally. Ability to follow directions to multi-step functions. Ability to work in a collaborative work environment individually and as a member of a team.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to creatively offer solutions to complex problems.
