Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a TRIO-Student Support Services Program Director. This federally-funded program at UD serves 140 students who are first-generation, low income, and/or students with a disability by providing holistic support to participants. This is a full-time, 12-month position funded through August of 2025 with the opportunity for continued employment pending the grant being re-awarded for another five years.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overall administration and evaluation of the University's TRIO/SSS Program
  • Recruit and accept students into the program
  • Work with TRIO-SSS students, providing academic career, social/personal, and financial advising
  • Develop and maintain program budget
  • Supervise two staff members
  • Consult and collaborate with University faculty and staff on behalf of SSS participants
  • Compile and assess data for federal compliance and performance reports
  • Perform other grant-related duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission

Requirements:

  • Master's degree, preferably in higher educational leadership/administration, developmental studies, guidance and counseling, social work, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of administrative experience in an educational setting, particularly in the areas of student success and retention
  • Familiarity in managing staff, budgets and government-funded grants
  • A background similar to that of SSS participants--with knowledge of the academic, economic, social, and cultural needs of disadvantaged students--is preferred
