The Fleet Manager role is an important role working from our corporate headquarters and has the following job duties:
- Needs to be familiar with delivery areas and must be able to assist drivers in finding jobsites.
- Must be experienced and efficient in route planning, safety, compliance, and driver retention.
- Must learn and understand products, product mixes, and additional charges and their proper applications.
- Able and willing to work varying shifts including early mornings, late afternoons, and weekends.
- Monitor truck drivers Hours of Service, ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
- Provide tracking updates to customer, on time pick up & delivery.
- A clear understanding of truck driver and equipment locations at all times, and availability status
- Knowledgeable of pricing and market conditions
- Ensure maximum number of miles each day / week for assigned drivers, in accordance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
- Minimize the amount of time drivers spend empty or not running, in accordance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
- Data entry, accuracy, to ensure a positive customer experience accurate billing and payment.
The ideal candidate will have the following traits and skills:
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform high level work with minimal supervision.
- Immaculate attention to detail during high volume periods
- Problem solving skills are a must. If you can create solutions in almost any environment, we want you on team RCL!
- Comfortable interacting with a diverse group of carriers and truck drivers through primarily phone interactions
- Time management skills to ensure current and prospective carriers are satisfied and utilized in future opportunities.
- Ability to take direction and implement feedback from the Leadership team.
- Organizational management to ensure multiple shipments moving at once are running efficiently and on schedule.

- Team player who can clearly communicate updates and needs to Account Executives and Carrier Specialist to effectively relay updates to the customer.
- Availability during weekends and after hours as need dictates.
