Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque, Iowa is seeking a Brain Health Liaison to join our family! This full-time, 9-month position will begin in the 2024-2025 school year and follow the school calendar.
The Brain Health Liaison plays an integral role in the development of the Brain Health room in the high school setting and will develop and maintain positive relationships with students/parents and school staff through building trust and regular communication. The Brain Health Liaison will be the sole employee who staffs the Brain Health Room and will have the following responsibilities:
- Support students in forming deep, personal relationships with Christ through small group ministry and faith mentoring.
- Develop brief intake and exit assessments for students visiting the Brain Health room.
- Provide a calming atmosphere to allow for students to regain self-regulation.
- Provide brief assessment for students who experience high anxiety or other brain health issues.
- Upon expiration of the established time limit using the Brain Health room, students who are experiencing high anxiety or other brain health issues will be referred to the counseling office.
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and manage multiple student needs simultaneously.
- Maintain required records and perform annual program evaluation.
- Locate and mobilize community resources to support students.
- Serve on both school-based and district committees to address program development and student needs.
- Routinely communicate with school and district staff/administration as it relates to student progress.
- Support and implement district policies, regulations, procedures, and administrative directives.
- Other duties as assigned.
The qualified candidate will have experience working with youth/students and will be a practicing Catholic for small group discipleship. A bachelor's degree in a mental health field and/or Catholic studies preferred.
