Employment Type: This position is open for either full-time or part-time employment. We are flexible and willing to adjust based on the candidate's qualifications and availability. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, with the potential for the position to be full-time for exceptionally qualified individuals.
Work Hours:
- During the School Year: Part-time hours are from 3 PM - 7 PM, Monday through Friday. Full-time hours, if applicable, would be from 11 AM - 7 PM, Monday through Friday.
- During the Summer: Part-time hours change from 10 AM – 3 PM, Monday through Friday. Full-time hours, if applicable, would be from 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, School Counseling, or equivalent in a related mental health field or actively working toward such degree.
- Experience working with children in a youth program, childcare, or educational setting.
- Mental Health field experience.
Basic Functions:
- Play an integral role in the development of a Brain Health Retreat room at the BGCD.
- Be the sole employee who staffs the Brain Health Retreat room.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with members, parents, and BGCD staff through building trust and regular communication.
Performance and Responsibilities:
- Develop brief intake and exit assessment for members visiting the Brain Health room.
- Provide a calming atmosphere to allow for members to regain self-regulation.
- Provide brief intervention for members who experience high anxiety or other brain health issues.
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and manage multiple members’ needs simultaneously.
- Maintain required records and perform annual program evaluation.
- Locate and mobilize community resources to support members.
- Serve on applicable committees to address program development and member needs.
- Routinely communicate with BGCD staff as it relates to member progress.
- Support and implement BGCD policies, regulations, procedures associated with this program.
- Other duties at the BGCD as assigned.
