Job Overview
Portzen Construction, Inc. is currently searching for an Accountant/Payroll Coordinator. Portzen Construction is a general contractor located in Dubuque, IA. This position will report to the CFO and will work with payroll, accounts payable and have other administrative duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
Construction Payroll:
- Accurately process weekly payroll using Sage 100 accounting software.
- File appropriate Federal and State payroll taxes.
- File and disburse child support, garnishments, and 401k.
- File and maintain monthly union reports.
- Other administrative payroll tasks as needed.
Accounts Payable:
- Accurately enter daily accounts payable into Sage 100 software.
- Prepare lien waivers for subcontractors and suppliers.
- File invoices in job files.
- Assist CFO with miscellaneous accounting tasks as needed.
Skill Requirements:
- 2 years’ experience in payroll or accounting.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Construction experience preferred, but not required.
- Sage 100 experience preferred, but not required.
