Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a local recycling company in Dubuque, IA. The Operations Manager will manage multiple departments, including the front office, dispatch, scale operations, drivers, finance, and accounting. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure the smooth functioning of all business areas while fostering a productive and customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations: Manage front office operations, dispatch team, scale operators, and drivers to ensure seamless coordination and efficiency.
- General office management: Supervise overall office operations, ensuring the workplace is organized and functioning effectively.
- Financial processing: Oversee payroll processing for all employees, handle accounts payable/receivable, and collaborate with the finance team for accurate financial management.
- Employee benefits & HR: Manage employee files, benefits, and HR-related functions while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Customer service: Greet visitors, handle a high volume of incoming calls, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Scheduling & coordination: Manage appointments, meetings, staff calendars, and schedules, ensuring all business activities are properly coordinated.
- Leadership & mentoring: Supervise, mentor, and train office staff, delegate tasks, and ensure maximum productivity across all departments.
- Inventory & purchasing: Purchase office supplies, equipment, and maintain appropriate stock levels to support business operations.
- Reports & documentation: Produce financial and operational reports, draft correspondence, and assist with drafting new contracts.
- Safety & compliance: Ensure all employees comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Operational improvements: Identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in logistics, recycling, or a similar industry.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer service.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in office management software and financial systems.
