Tire Delivery Driver 

Thompson Tire & Retread is looking for a full-time Inter-Company Route Driver to join our Dubuque location. Individuals who prefer a more physical job and are deadline driven will thrive in this role. The focus of this position is to pickup and deliver tires between our three dealership locations - Cedar Rapids, Davenport, and Dubuque. This candidate will be expected to deliver tires in a safe and efficient manner. Drivers always have to maintain a clean driving record .

- Making deliveries as quickly and efficiently as possible.

- Operating the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

- Operate according to DOT rules and regulations.

- Loading and unloading tires and/or other materials before, after and during deliveries.

- Ensure material is properly secured and within regulated weight limits

. - Notify management of safety concerns and vehicle maintenance or repair issues.

- Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with customers and colleagues.

- Follow company and customer procedures for delivering materials, recordkeeping, and obtaining signatures.

- Assist with general warehouse responsibilities as workload necessitates.

The nature of this position is quite physical. In addition, many of the deliveries may weigh as much as 75 pounds.

- High School Diploma or GED

- Insurable by company insurance policy (clean driving record of with no minor violations within the last 3 years or major violations within the last 5 years.

- Ability to obtain a Chauffeur Endorsement 2

- Physical demands of this job are classified as Medium: exerting 51 to 100 pounds of force or lifting seldom and/or exerting 36 to 50 pounds of force or lifting occasionally, and/or 10 to 35 pounds of force or lifting frequently to move objects.
