Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Structural Assistance: Aid supervisors in structural design, planning, layout, and installation tasks.
- Repair and Installation: Conduct repair work and install doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as needed.
- Quality Assessment: Evaluate the quality of woodwork and materials to ensure top-notch standards.
- Tool Operation: Operate various tools, machines, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Regulation Compliance: Adhere to local building codes and health and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and stakeholders.
- Physical Endurance: Stand for extended periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects as required by the job.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or graduation from a vocational school.
- Proven experience as a carpenter, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Carpentry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of carpentry methods, equipment, materials, and tools, including safety precautions in the construction trades.
- Interpretation Skills: Ability to interpret and work from sketches, drawings, plans, and construction documents.
- Instruction Following: Capability to follow both oral and written instructions precisely.
- Estimating: Proficiency in making and projecting material and labor estimates.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
