Type: Temp-to-hire / Long-term

Overview:
We are seeking skilled welders for both 1st and 2nd shifts to join a local company's team! Candidates with MIG welding experience are highly preferred.

Shifts:

• 1st Shift: Mon-Thurs, 5 AM - 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Mon-Thurs, 3:30 PM - 2 AM
• Overtime may be required on Fridays, especially during the busy fall season.

Compensation:

• Starting at $24/hour
• 2nd Shift includes a $2.50/hour shift differential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Connect welding cables to obtain specified amperage and voltage.
• Start power supply to produce electric current.
• Strike the arc to melt and deposit metal from the electrode to the workpiece.
• Manually guide the electrode or gun along the weld line, ensuring proper depth of fusion and bead.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, or vertical positions.
• Examine welds for bead size and specifications.
• Manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal.
• Clean or degrease weld joints or workpieces.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarring surfaces.
• Chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter.
• Preheat workpieces with hand torch or heating furnace.
• Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture.
• Tack assemblies together.
