Job Description:
Klauer Manufacturing Company is seeking a strategic Director of Human Resources to lead our HR function, fostering an environment that reflects the organization's mission, values, and commitment to its workforce. The Director of Human Resources will oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee and union relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, and safety and compliance. This role is crucial in aligning HR initiatives with business objectives to support growth, productivity and a positive workplace culture.
What does Klauer ask of you? - Essential Duties of the Director of Human Resources Position:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and provide leadership and counsel to senior management on human resources matters.
- Talent Acquisition & Compensation: Direct recruitment strategies and compensation planning to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
- Performance Management: Manages the performance management system to support alignment with organizational goals, providing resources for meaningful feedback, and promoting employee development and accountability.
- Employee and Union Relations – Builds and maintains strong relationships with employees and union representatives, actively participating in contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with labor agreements, and open communication across all levels.
- Training & Development: Leads programs to enhance employee skills and career growth, aligning training initiatives with organizational goals and supporting continuous learning, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Compensation & Benefits: Manages competitive compensation and benefits programs while balancing cost-effectiveness.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensures a safe and compliant work environment by developing and enforcing safety protocols and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
- HRIS and Time & Attendance Management: Ensures effective utilization of HRIS systems for accurate employee data management, time and attendance tracking, and data-driven insights for reporting, streamlining processes, enhancing compliance, and supporting informed-decision making.
- Policy Administration: Develops, implements, and maintains legally compliant company policies, ensuring effective communication and consistent application across the organization.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Continuously refines HR policies to align with legal updates and emerging industry standards.
- Promotes best practices in risk assessment and consistent policy enforcement.
- Leads a strategic approach to risk management, guiding the team in navigating complex and evolving regulatory issues.
- Embeds core company values into all HR initiatives to reinforce a positive work environment.
- Monitors industry trends to ensure compensation, benefits and offerings are competitive and appealing.
- Strengthens employee engagement through cross-functional collaboration and strategic initiatives.
- Contributes to organizational growth through strategic workforce insights beyond compliance.
- Advises senior leaders on workforce planning with data-driven insights.
- Manages and optimizes HR technology and identifies improvements to enhance HR operations and employee experience.
- Guides the HR team in developing impactful training programs.
- Provides expertise on talent management best practices, ensuring workforce planning meets future needs.
- Implements strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent, fostering a culture of learning and continuous growth.
Preferred Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- HR Certifications including SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
