Job Overview

This welding program has a flexible start date. Students may begin this program anytime between Jan. 14, 2025 & Feb. 4, 2025. All sections of the program must be completed by May 8, 2025.

Work at your own pace, on your own time and master your skills in the short-term Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Competency-Based Education (CBE) program. You’ll use an online platform for the lecture portion of the class that includes videos, reading, assignments and assessments, and complete hands-on welding projects with your instructor in the Welding Lab on campus. The flexibility of this program allows you to reserve booth time that fits with your schedule to develop basic GMAW welding and blueprint reading skills. You’ll be prepared for immediate entry-level employment or continued training in our extended Welding diploma program!

Spring Welding Lab availability is 7 a.m. -  2 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Before registering into this class, you will need to complete the online certification training OSHA General Industry 10-Hour Online class #97648 or provide a copy of your OSHA 10 General Industry card if you have completed the training within the past 3 years. When you complete the online class please reach out to an NICC College and Career Coach for the next steps.
