Full-Time Water Quality/Lab Technician

Location: Dubuque, IA

Position Type: Full-Time, temporary 6 month long position (could lead to other positions within the department based on performance)

Compensation: $28.60 per hour

Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Start Date: ASAP

Description: A local company is looking for a detail-oriented Water Quality Technician to join their team. This role involves conducting laboratory and field tests to monitor water quality and investigate pollution sources. Ideal candidates are recent graduates with degrees in chemistry, biology, or related fields, or those with relevant lab experience.

Responsibilities:

• Perform chemical, biological, and bacteriological tests on water and wastewater.
• Collect and transport samples for analysis.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment.
• Enter analysis results into a records database.
• Assist in inventory management and respond to customer inquiries.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Valid state Driver’s License.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
