What You’ll Do:

  • Fundraising Extraordinaire: Spearhead transformative fundraising efforts, cultivating major gifts, corporate partnerships, and innovative campaigns to ensure DRHS’s financial sustainability.
  • Operational Visionary: Oversee the big picture, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly while building a strategic roadmap for long-term impact.
  • Inspirational Leader: Motivate and empower an incredible team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven work culture.
  • Community Advocate: Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders while championing the DRHS mission at every turn.

Who You Are:

  • A seasoned professional with at least 5 years of management experience and a proven track record in fundraising and budget oversight.
  • A creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and inspires those around you.
  • A compassionate advocate with an authentic passion and experience in animal welfare.
  • Bonus points for experience in animal care, non-profit management, or a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA) certification.

The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is committed to building bonds between people and animals through adoptions, community outreach, humane education and cruelty prevention. Operating as a 501(c)3 non-profit, open admission, no-kill shelter, the DRHS provides critical medical and behavioral interventions, and compassionate care for more than 2,800 animals annually that are lost, abandoned, rehomed by guardians or rescued from neglect.
