Smart Retract is growing and is looking to hire a Senior Production Technician Coordinator, a position that will have leadership growth opportunities involved with the production and assembly of our retractable safety gates and accessories along with other products.

The Senior Production Technician Coordinator must be dedicated to fostering our culture of Alignment to our core principles and be committed to taking management goals and driving those towards innovation, progress, and success. This position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of production teams, ensuring efficient production processes, quality standards, and optimal resource utilization. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and organizational skills to manage production activities, resolve issues, and ensure that production targets are met. The coordinator will actively lead improvement initiatives and ensure a safe working environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

 Production Coordinator (25%)

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure orders are completed on time and deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Ensure that production runs smoothly by monitoring workflows, overseeing daily operations, and addressing any delays or issues that may arise.
  • Coordinate the necessary materials, tools, and equipment required for production.
  • Identify and resolve production-related problems in a timely manner, including equipment failures, workflow bottlenecks, or supply shortages.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements to increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Safeguard confidential information and maintain discretion.
  • Ensure that production processes are conducted in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
  • Support the production team by providing guidance, addressing concerns, and ensuring team alignment with production goals.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including production logs, inventory reports, performance metrics, and maintenance reports.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on production status, challenges, and performance metrics to Owner/CEO.
  • Certified trainer for all production processes.

Working Production (75%)

  • Working team member to assemble, test, and package our product line of retractable safety gates and accessories.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, leading by example.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Operate light and heavy equipment ranging from sewing and cutting fabric, hot air welding, pneumatic and electric hand tools, pallet jack, forklift, and other manufacturing and assembly equipment.
  • Able to lift approximately 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Knowledge of production processes and equipment.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Understanding of company processes and procedures and is certified trained.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks – but with excellent quality.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
