Express Employment has partnered with a local company in Dubuque, IA, to find a skilled Purchasing Coordinator. This role involves managing product assortment, financial planning, and vendor partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop merchandise assortments and monitor sales metrics.
- Manage inventory and develop a strategy to sell obsolete merchandise.
- Build strong vendor partnerships and manage co-op programs.
- Communicate with stores and the distribution center.
- Attend buying shows and stay updated on product trends.
- Place and track purchase orders, and review sales performance.
- Develop advertising and promotional plans.
- Provide directions on new SKUs and maintain accurate planograms.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of purchasing experience or equivalent education.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
