BARD Materials has a unique opportunity for an Off-Road Equipment Technician to join our highly skilled maintenance team!

Job Summary:

The Off-Road Equipment Technician/Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various heavy off-road construction and material-handling equipment, including loaders, excavators, and aggregate production equipment. This role ensures that equipment remains in optimal condition to support our operations efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on off-road equipment, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical components.  
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to ensure minimal downtime.  
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and improve performance.  
  • Operate diagnostic tools to identify issues and implement effective solutions.  
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.  
  • Manage processes to locate and order necessary parts efficiently
  • Collaborate with operations teams to schedule repairs and minimize disruptions.  
  • Keep a clean and organized work environment while adhering to BARD safety standards.  
  • Provide technical expertise and support to other team members when needed. 
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; **Technical degree or certification** in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Repair, or related field preferred.  
  • 3+ years of experience in off-road equipment maintenance and repair.  
  • Proficiency in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine diagnostics and repairs.  
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and blueprints.  
  • Must be able to manage time appropriately and be proactive in addressing equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with diagnostic software/tools.  
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
